BACKGROUND

Despite the boundless advancements of mankind, their world approached the brink of ruin.

Land was taken by water; unforgiving and unrelenting.

Monsters roamed rampant; hungry and wild.

But humanity still had it's magitechnology and a powerful will to survive. Even so they knew that left on their own, the end of the world was imminent. And so they sought to create a being that would have the power to save and protect them-- a God of unimaginable power. This effort was known by the name "Project Deliverance".

Failure after failure, with each set of adjustments, humanity came closer to creating the being that they sought.

Then one day-- Liamendes was born.

Not without his flaws, however. They saw in him great hope, great potential. However, in order for him to become the perfect being that they sought some things needed to be removed.

From those unwanted remains-- Lessarial was born.

The Desired and The Detested... while both created the same, humanity would never see them as equals. Liamendes became the God they worshipped: one of Light and Fire and Order. Lessarial became the horror they could not be rid of: a being of Darkness and Water and Chaos, all the things that they wanted to cast out of their world.

But Liamendes could not exist without Lessarial. Without her he is nothing short of unstable. While he was the embodiment of everything they desired from a God, he was not blessed with the same fond sentiment for them. He may have been the physical manifestation of what they desired, but the heart-- that was Lessarial.

Time moved ever onward and life improved steadily at the hands of both God and Goddess. However, only one was ever praised for their work. As time continued to tick on by, Lessarial loved humans-- while Liamendes began to resent and hate them. He could not forgive the creators who discarded her, only to treat her as a test subject. He could not forgive the fear of the people that would vilify her for things she had not done. Ignorant... and still he protected them. Not of his own desire, but because it is what his sister would do-- what she would want him to do.

PERSONALITY

There was once a time that Liamendes looked upon humans with fondness. And even in a corner of his heart, that small shard of reasoning remained. It was humans that gave him Lessarial. They separated them yes, but allowed them to walk separately, side by side. All these years later, he has not forgotten that bright shining moment when she first took his hand. This one incredible gift.... humanity gave this to him. Unfortunately that one lovely thing is outweighed in so many ways by lifetimes of watching humans be heartless and cruel to his most important person. Despite giving her life, they treated her as lesser. And over time, he began to think less and less of them.

Liamendes is a cool-tempered individual. He is, on his own, a quiet and contemplative sort. He does not outwardly show his disdain for humanity; but instead allows it to simmer underneath the surface as he watches them. And he does spend a great amount of time watching them. A part of him remains curious, if bitterly so, what it is that his sister sees that is willing looking past all of their past transgressions and flaws that hurt her so. He can be cold and calculating... even manipulative and cruel. Something that makes him a dangerous enemy to have, considering the sharp nature of his mind.

His more lively, impassioned moments bubble to the surface the moment Lessa would become involved. For both good and bad, it is nearly impossible for him to stay impartial when it has to do with her. She is his entire world-- more so than the physical one that he inhabits-- he does not forget those who wrong her. It builds upon the grudge he keeps for humanity. But when it is just the two of them, there are times that he can forget everything else. He can be selfish and possessive, yet his love and adoration are always just as present.

She is also responsible for nurturing the playful, passionate side of him. And when anger would threaten to make him closed off and guarded, she manages to soften him. His form of playful is teasing, boardering on petty at times. He dislikes losing in any manner, however-- if he has to, it is less painful if it's her he's losing to.

Those who would see him with and without her would see almost two completely different people.
